Community To Win Support For Local Road Safety Solutions
Member for Essendon, has encouraged community groups to apply for grants of up to $25,000 to address local road safety issues.
The latest round of the TAC’s $1 million Community Road Safety Grants program is open to not-for-profit registered groups who can identify a road safety issue and come up with a project to overcome it.
The grants program has been running since 2008 and has targeted a wide range of issues including speed, drink driving, education, and pedestrian, motorcyclist and cyclist safety.
Funding from recent rounds of Community Road Safety Grants has gone towards a range of projects aimed at improving road safety at a local level. They aim to engage local communities in road safety programs and provide opportunities for local groups to develop and implement road safety strategies.
Applications for the latest round of grants close on April 17. Application forms and additional information are available on the grants page at www.tac.vic.gov.au or by contacting the Community Road Safety Grants officer on 5225 7517.

“I’d encourage any group who wants to improve safety in their area to put on their thinking caps, come up with a solution and submit an application.”
